Officials Investigate Severed Goat Head In Dolphin's Death

WHAT?!?!
KEY LARGO, Fla. -- Wildlife officials are trying to determine if a severed goat's head found in the water of a marine mammal rehabilitation center the same day a baby dolphin died there had any connection with the calf's death.
The baby dolphin's caretakers found the severed head in the water the same morning the baby dolphin died. Its jaw had been wired shut.

The calf was born last Monday to a deaf Atlantic bottlenose dolphin named Castaway. It died Friday.

An independent veterinarian selected by the National Marine Fisheries Service conducted an eight-hour animal autopsy on the baby dolphin, but officials said that preliminary findings showed no apparent cause of death
